Week 2

Hi everybody,
The first full week being out on my mission. Wow. It was such a amazing week. First off my MTC companion is Elder Shamanga, he's from Zambia Lusaka. It's cool talking to him about what I might find when I get out to the mission field. There are going to a total of 8 missionaries that are going to Zambia; 4 Elders from the states, 1 Elder from England, 1 Elder from Zimbabwe, and 2 Sisters from Zimbabwe. Each day is more or less the same; you get up and get ready for the day, eat breakfast with all the missionaries, classes, eat lunch, more classes, some sport time, dinner, even more classes, then finally sleep. Then it started all over again.
The classes are a mix of us studying the scriptures and Preach my Gospel, classes about how to teach and love those that you teach, and teaching 2 investigators that our teachers play so. It is so much fun learning about the gospel and then teaching it do our investigators. I can't wait to get out to the field so I can teach people for real.
On Tuesday we were able to go to the Johannesburg South African temple. We went early so we could go to a devotional were the general authority in this area spoke to us. We also went to the church disputation center, were I picked up a real leather scripture case. It smells so good. I love it.

I miss all of you guys and hope that you doing well.

MTC Intake #219

Greetings from the South Africa MTC

Our group of missionaries has arrived!  We are always so happy when everyone
gets here. I love them already.  Our Intake Day is always a busy day.  The
missionaries filled out forms, saw the nurse, were interviewed by President
Collins, met their companions, emailed, unpacked and got settled in their
rooms, ate, and went on a tour of the MTC.  We just finished our first
meeting with them.  We taught each other the Doctrine of Christ from 2Ne.
32.  They did a wonderful job and I can tell that they are going to be a
great group.  We will take good care of them and do our best to prepare them
for their "fields of labor."  They are on their way to becoming the
consecrated missionaries the Lord wants and needs.

The next time you will hear from your missionary will be next
Thursday--their MTC Pday.

With love,
Sister Collins
